Northwest Wood Splitters is owned and operated by Honeygrowler LLC. Our business is the sawing and splitting of logs into firewood and such other activities as allowed by law. We do not sell firewood. We are licensed, bonded and insured.

About Us
Scott and Ryan McMullin provide a mobile firewood splitting business - Northwest Wood Splitters. This father and son team both have years of experience using hydraulic wood splitters and are familiar with the demanding physical work involved. We began hand splitting and advanced to renting small wood splitters from local rental yards. As our business has grown over the years we needed stronger, faster firewood splitting machines with more capabilities. We now use commercial splitters with advanced features like hydraulic log lifts and multiway splitting wedges. As a result, we work faster, safer and more efficiently.
Ryan graduated in 2015 from the University of Oregon. Ryan puts care into all that he does and has a passion for animals. He’s also the equipment expert and assembled our first hydraulic splitter.
Scott worked in finance for decades, yet stayed in touch with the outdoors throughout those years. He raises honeybees and can help with yellow jackets and wasps under honeygrowler.com which is the parent company of northwestwoodsplitters.com.

A lot of our customers have logs that have been cut into large rounds that are too large to burn in a fireplace. Depending on the size of your fireplace or stove we can cut them to the appropriate size. Common firewood lengths are 16-20” for fireplaces and 12-14” for a wood burning stove depending on the box size. We will saw everything to the length you need and split large rounds down to manageable size.
In the old days we split wood using a wedge and sledge hammer or with an axe. That still works but when there’s a lot to split now we use our hydraulic wood splitter to save time and effort. Our equipment lets us do more in less time.
Our current hydraulic splitters are an Eastonmade 37D with a Kubota Diesel engine and a Wolfe Ridge 35SHO with Kubota Diesel engine. We have different splitting wedges allowing them to split wood rounds into many pieces in one split. We also had a RuggedMade 37 ton hydraulic splitter.
